Police resorted to cane-charge to disperse irate audience who sought to disrupt a stage show by Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant at Nanded. Trouble started after about an hour of the commencement of the show, when some members of the audience, who did not carry valid passes barged into the venue at Navamondha area of Nanded and tried to occupy the seats reserved for the VIPs and other dignitaries, said an eyewitness. Chairs and other articles were thrown at the stage and police ordered the orgnisers to stop the show mid-way.
Rakhi was escorted by the police out of the venue. Sawant has been in news recently after obscenity case was registered against her at Kolhapur.
Later she was let off after a warning.
